2012 check, on to 2013.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom …

Um, yeah, bullshit.

With the door on 2012 officially shut I initially wanted to go political and lament on the failings of our past year, of our incompetent political leadership, our countries inability to to focus on root cause analysis and its fornication to knee jerk reaction thinking, and the dry anal rape of our rights as a citizen.

But that is too easy a target.  Its akin to trying not to hit the side of a barn with a shotgun.

Instead I give thanks to the diversity my family and friends have brought over this past year.   The balance and fullness I have gained just for knowing you, being with you. Sharing experiences with you and the life perspective you have unknowingly exposed and taught me is immeasurable.  My only hope is I have contributed half as much as I have learned.

For 2013 my goal is to give more than I receive, to be a teacher of love, compassion and reason.  To love more, hate less.  Be an instrument of change instead of an actionless critic.  To balance life’s intricate roles of work, family, friends and community.  To contribute more and consume less.  To foster, cultivate, and propagate good.  To be a better student and teacher.

Happy New Year everyone!
