Every time I come across a shortening or simplification I always wonder if it is Americans at our laziest. From “Dust thou art, and unto dust thou shalt return” (Genesis 3:19) to “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust”. A little research in the great book of knowledge gives the lazy Americans a pass this round. This is attributed to the Book of Common Prayer dating back to England, mid-1500’s. You know, the ones normally attributed to snarky, witty, linguistic dueling genius.
What the hell does that have to do with this dead mouse’s skeleton, dead mouse skull and fire? Not a god damn thing.
If you made it this far reading, and hoping there was some succinct point to all this beyond a mouse skeleton and a fire pit, thanks for reading and apologies for wasting your time.
